Our Independence Matters to You ...
and to Us

* Because we seek to comment objectively on public policy, The Heartland Institute declines government funding.

* We diversify our funding to ensure we are not beholden to any particular industry, interest, or persons. Nearly 3,000 individuals, foundations, and businesses support our work.

* The Heartland Institute does not conduct research for hire. We have procedures in place that protect our writers and editors from undue influence by donors.
