John Dale Dunn is a 1971 graduate of Creighton University Medical School in Omaha, Nebraska. He interned at Harlem Hospital in New York City in 1971 and 1972 before entering practice in a small town in Nebraska.
He returned to Creighton in 1974 and devoted his energies to Family Practice Department faculty duties while he opened a practice in the only black ghetto in Nebraska, where he had lived while he was a medical student.
His practice flourished and he obtained a $1 million grant for medical care for the north side of Omaha as a member of the Creighton faculty while he was attending Law School at Creighton.
In 1980 he became the medical director and chief executive officer of the HMO of Baton Rouge, where he provided care for 20,000 people in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area.
He has had many and varied practice and consulting experiences since, including emergency department director in Florida and Texas.
He has been a member of the teaching faculty at the largest army emergency department and has been dedicated to care of soldiers since 2003.
He is now a 37-year physician and 30-year attorney, learned in the ways of health care policy.
He is committed to the best care for soldiers and citizens and he has very deep concerns about socialism and colllectivism.
