David Fand is a Mercatus Center scholar who writes extensively on current economic affairs. He was a visiting scholar to the Center of Public Choice at George Mason University and continues to serve as a research associate there. Prior to that, Dr. Fand was a professor of economics at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan from 1967-1990.

Dr. Fand has taught at the State University of New York at Buffalo, the University of Minnesota, Southern Methodist University, the University of Chicago, Brown University, and Carnegie Institute of Technology.

Dr. Fand earned his Ph.D. in economics from The University of Chicago in 1954.
