
Gwendalyn Carver joined The Heartland Institute in February 2006 as an administrative assistant for the Illinois School Choice Initiative. In mid-September she was named Heartland’s bookkeeper and database manager.
Gwen graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School in 1999. In June 2005, she graduated Magna Cum Laude (Honors) from Robert Morris College, receiving a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Health Care Management.
Before joining Heartland, Gwen was a shift manager for the enrollment specialists in the Recruitment Department at Robert Morris College. She was responsible for assisting staff with all aspects of the RMC admission processes, including interviewing and training new employees.
Gwen has six years’ experience in the administrative field. In 2005 she held intern positions at the American Cancer Society and The Epilepsy Foundation, where she developed grant proposals to secure in-kind donations, created presentations, and analyzed demographic data for the institutions.
Gwen was born in Chicago and is the oldest of nine children. She enjoys being around family, reading, movies, bowling, and spending the majority of her time with her daughter, Sierra.
