Dr. David Gortler is a professor of pharmacology and an FDA regulatory affairs expert. He is a former FDA Official, and is the Drug Safety and FDA Policy advisor to The Heartland Institute.
Dr. Gortler was the FDA policy advisor to the Ted Cruz presidential campaign, and has also been invited to testify in front of the U.S. Senate as a healthcare policy expert, FDA expert and pharmacology expert. He is the Chief Medical Officer of Valisure, a Yale University-founded startup medical device company at Yale University’s science park in New Haven, Connecticut, which analyzes and validates the labeled purity of overseas “sweatshop” generic drugs.
Dr. Gortler has two decades of investigational medicine and drug development experience, and over a decade of didactic professorships at top-tiered medical schools (Yale University, Georgetown University, and George Washington University). He is the author/co-author of over 50 publications, papers, articles, reviews, clinical protocols and reports in related areas including clinical and non-clinical pharmacology, FDA law, FDA policy, drug pricing, drug safety, the FDA’s AERS/ FARES drug safety databases, healthcare policy, drug development, epidemiology and drug patent law.
He is on the editorial board of several different peer-reviewed medical journals and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Investigational Pharmacology and Therapeutic Medicine.
