Freeman Dyson (1923 – 2020)

Emeritus Professor of Physics, Institute for Advanced Studies

Freeman Dyson was an emeritus professor of physics at the Institute for Advanced Studies at Princeton. Widely considered one of the world’s most distinguished scientists, he has 21 honorary degrees and is most famous for his work in quantum mechanics, solid-state physics, and nuclear engineering. Dyson is a member of the Board of Sponsors of The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.

Dr. Dyson passed away on February 28, 2020 at the age of 96.
