Thomas A. Firey is managing editor of the Cato Institute’s magazine, Regulation. He also is a senior fellow of the Maryland Public Policy Institute.

Firey, a policy advisor to The Heartland Institute, has published op-eds in the New York Times, the Washington Post, USA Today, Hartford Courant, and Baltimore Sun. Firey holds a bachelor's degree in political science from St. Mary’s College of Md. and a master’s in philosophy from Virginia Tech.
