March 01, 2007, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

On Thursday, March 1, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., The Heartland Institute will cosponsor with the Cato Institute a book signing with Michael Tanner at Jaks Tap (in the Green Room) at 901 W. Jackson in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood.

Free admission, beer, soda, and pizza!

This event ought to be a lot of fun. Feel free to bring guests ... and come prepared to meet some new free-market friends. But please give us a call at 312/377-4000 no later than February 27, so we know how many pizzas to order!

Tanner is the author of Leviathan on the Right: How Big-Government Conservatism Brought Down the Republican Revolution, a well-documented account of the rise and fall of "big-government conservatism."

His meticulous research explains this crippled philosophy's origins and net effect. His keen analysis serves up a scathing critique of big government as a means to accomplish libertarian and conservative ends.

As director of Cato's health and welfare studies, Michael Tanner heads research on new, market-based approaches to health, welfare and Social Security. His approach is based on individual responsibility rather than government control.

Time magazine declared Tanner "one of the architects of the private accounts movement." Congressional Quarterly considers him one of the nation's five most influential experts on Social Security.

Space is limited for this event, so please call The Heartland Institute at 312/377-4000 today to reserve your spot and places for your friends.
