Energy Summit 2007

Hilton O'Hare Hotel
O'Hare International Airport

March 16, 2007, 12:00 PM

On Friday and Saturday, March 16-17, The Heartland Institute is hosting an Energy Summit for state elected officials at the Hilton O'Hare hotel in Chicago.

The event will bring together some of the nation's leading experts on the key energy-related issues facing our country, including air quality, biofuels, climate change, and energy independence.

The Heartland Institute will offer legislators up to two nights' lodging at the host hotel, and a travel allowance to be reimbursed up to $300.00. There is no registration fee for this event.

Perhaps more so than at any previous time, energy production in the United States and globally is under attack by ideologically driven environmental advocacy groups, foundations, and their allies in the media and academia. We are inviting state legislative leaders on environment and energy policy to learn how to fight back against those who seem determined to shut down the nation's manufacturing sector and raise the cost of electricity and home heating fuels beyond the reach of many Americans.

A tentative agenda for the Summit is available by visiting http://www.heartland.org/EnergySummit.cfm. There, you may also download the reply form to indicate your attendance at the event. We ask that you send the reply form back to us by mail or fax (312/377-5000) no later than February 28 so we can reserve space for you at this special function.
