AFP, Open the Books & Heartland 'Unrig the Economy Panel'
The event is a part of AFP’s national “Unrig the Economy” campaign, a multiyear, multimillion-dollar effort dedicated to creating a stronger economy by leveling the playing field for all.

Americans for Prosperity-Illinois (AFP-IL) is co-hosting an “Unrig the Economy” dinner event with the Heartland Institute in Arlington Heights on September 19, 2019.
The policy discussion will focus on why Congress should not bring back tax extenders or reauthorize the Export-Import Bank – two blatant examples of corporate welfare.
PANELISTS:
Moderator: Brian Costin, Deputy State Director of AFP - IL
Russ Latino, Vice President - Economic Development Portfolio at Americans for Prosperity
Adam Andrzejewski - CEO & Founder of OpenTheBooks.com
Frank Lasee, President, Heartland Institute
“Illinoisans know better than most [how] government can rig the game in favor of special interests. Often, economic success is decided by political favoritism and who you know. Instead of rigging our economy by picking winners and losers lawmakers should work to create equality of opportunity where everyone is treated the same by federal, state or local government,” said Brian Costin, AFP-IL Deputy State Director. “This event centers on how we can start to create an environment, in Illinois and nationally, where people succeed based on the value they create for consumers rather than hiring the best lobbyists to rig the system in their favor.”
ADMISSION IS FREE: Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., the panel will commence at 7:00 p.m., and the event will end sometime after 8:30 p.m. or 9:00 p.m.
