Jeré C. Fabick
Jeré C. Fabick, a policy advisor for energy policy at The Heartland Institute, is president of Fabick Cat, the Caterpillar equipment and engine dealer for major portions of Missouri, Illinois, the entire state of Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan. Headquartered in Fenton (St. Louis County), Missouri, it operates from 37 locations throughout its dealer territory and employs over 1,100 people. Fabick Cat sells, services, and rents Caterpillar and related products in virtually every sector of the economy. From Caterpillar excavators, loaders and tractors at work in construction, mining and agriculture, to Cat power generation systems used in emergency standby and load management applications, to Cat diesel engines for powering trucks that deliver products across America, Fabick Cat is a strong partner providing essential support to industry. The Fabick family’s involvement in the construction equipment business dates back to 1917 and has endured for nearly 100 years.
Fabick serves on the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Association of Tractor Dealers, Inc. (CATD), a captive funding company owned by independent Caterpillar equipment dealers. CATD manages the commercial paper program of Dealers Capital Access Trust, Inc. (DCAT). DCAT makes short-term working capital loans to the members of CATD and other entities who sell (or whose wholly owned subsidiaries sell) equipment supplied by Caterpillar. DCAT issues investment grade commercial paper (“CP”) and uses the proceeds solely to fund its loan program.
Fabick also serves on the Advisory Board of Segs4Vets, a charity that provides Segway Personal Transporters to severely injured members of our armed services who sustained their injuries defending freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan. Segs4Vets has awarded more than 1,400 Segway PT’s to our wounded warriors. He also supports other charitable causes including Mary, Mother of the Church National Shrine, Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin, Wings of Hope and Quarry Quest. Jeré lives in the Milwaukee area.
