In May, Seattle attempted to tax large businesses $275 per employee to deal with their homeless problem. Numerous companies banded together to fight this tax, many of which threatened to leave town. Instead of treating companies like an ATM, Seattle should cut taxes to promote economic growth, improving overall well being and providing jobs to those in need.

Civil asset forfeiture is a tool allowing law enforcement to seize assets from people without charging them with a crime. It's meant for hindering the operations of criminal organizations nd drug pushers. Unfortunately, this tool also incentivizes law enforcement to seize as much as possible because they can keep and utilize the seized assets. This leads to innocent people losing their property.

Right to try is a movement allowing terminally ill individuals access to experimental treatments lacking FDA approval. At age 25, Mikaela Knapp was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer. To access experimental treatments with life-saving potential, Mikaela and her husband Keith launched a national social media campaign, culminating with an appearance on Good Morning America. Sadly, Mikaela never received treatment and passed in 2014. She could still be here today if she had the right to try.
