Twila Brase, R.N, President of the Citizen's Council for Health Freedom, discusses her new book Big Brother in the Exam Room: The Dangerous Truth About Electronic Records.

On this episode of the Heartland Daily Podcast, Director of Communications Jim Lakely talks with Twila Brase, registered nurse and President of the Citizen's Council for Health Freedom. In 2014, Brase was the recipient of the Freedom of Informed Choice Award at the Sacred Fire of Liberty Gala in Maryland. She is also the host of Health Freedom Minute and a policy advisor to The Heartland Institute.

Brase discusses her book Big Brother in the Exam Room: The Dangerous Truth About Electronic Records and her fight for freedom for patients and doctors. Legislation such as the Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPA) 'privacy rule', which took away our right to patient consent over sharing data in opposite to the name. More than 700,000 covered entities plus 1.5 million business associates are able to get access to your medical data if those responsible are willing to hand it over. Most people believe that these efforts are there to help and save you money, but little do they know the perils of big government interfering in health care.
