Heartland Institute Director of Communications Jim Lakely marks the coming Mother’s Day by talking about “Mother Earth” with Donn Dears, author of “Clexit: For a Brighter Future.” Jim and Donn discuss why Mother Earth is not in peril due to emissions of carbon dioxide, and why the United States needs to withdraw from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. They also talk about breaking news and mixed messages from the Trump Administration on this front.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson signed the Fairbanks Declaration at a meeting of the Arctic Council. The document specifically urges the ratifying bodies to “note with concern the widespread impact of climate change on the Arctic” and calls for the implementation of the Paris climate agreement. Meanwhile, Tillerson said a decision on whether or not the United States stays in Paris will not be coming for another few weeks.
