Dr. Lee Gross: Direct Primary Care Drops Health Care Costs Up to 98 Percent

October 20, 2016

Direct primary care providers negotiate up to 98 percent discounts on health care for their patients by doing business with them directly with a monthly membership fee instead of billing them on a case-by-case basis through insurance

On site at the Omni Mandalay Hotel and Convention Center in Irving, Texas, Health Care News Managing Editor Michael Hamilton interviewed Dr. Lee Gross, president of the Docs4PatientCare Foundation, which hosted the two-day conference "Direct Primary Care: Nuts and Bolts to 2.0." The conference drew more than 260 physicians from 42 states between October 14 and October 15.

Gross tells Hamilton how direct primary care providers negotiate up to 98 percent discounts on health care for their patients by doing business with them directly with a monthly membership fee instead of billing them on a case-by-case basis through insurance. Gross runs Epiphany Health Direct Primary Care, a clinic in North Port, Florida.
