Dr. John Lott, Jr., Founder and President of the Crime Prevention Research Center joins the podcast to discuss gun control legislation in 2018 and what to expect as legislators head back to their state capitols next month.

Dr. John Lott, Jr., founder and president of the Crime Prevention Research Center joins state government relations manager Lindsey Stroud to discuss 2018 and efforts to watch out for in 2019. Dr. Lott’s Crime Prevention Research Center is a research and education organization dedicated to conducting research on the relationship between laws regulating the ownership or use of guns, crime, and public safety. Dr. Lott has held teaching positions at numerous academic universities and was Chief Economist at the United States Sentencing Commission during 1988-1989. Dr. Lott and Lindsey discuss his background, how he found himself advocating for thorough research regarding private gun ownership, the lack of explicit guidelines in Red Flag laws, 2018 legislation, and what to expect in 2019.
