Hoaxes, Scams, and the Opioid Crisis (Guest: Marilyn Singleton, M.D., J.D.)

July 29, 2019

Hoaxes and scams have been dominating the news this year and the health care arena is no different. Also, what's happening with the opioid crisis?

Dr. Singleton weighs in on a number of issues from the first hearing on the House Medicare for All bill and testimony on government having to save the public from soaring medical bills.  She also discusses the opioid crisis and how that started with making pain control a vital sign. Singleton discusses how the FDA made it worse with clamping down on prescriptions.

Dr. Singleton also discusses hospitals buying up physician practices and proposals to deal with surprise medical bills and rising drug prices.
