April 5, 2021

In Episode XXVIII of Ill Literacy, Tim Benson talks with Amity Shales, co-editor of the authored expanded and annotated edition of “The Autobiography of Calvin Coolidge.”

Heartland’s Tim Benson is joined by Amity Shlaes, board chair at the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation and New York Times bestselling author to discuss the authorized expanded and annotated edition of The Autobiography of Calvin Coolidge, which she co-edited with Matthew Denhart. They discuss Coolidge’s Vermont upbringing, his pre-presidential political career and, of course, his presidency. They also chat about what lessons we can learn today by looking back to Coolidge’s statesmanship and demeanor.
