John Nothdurft and Donny Kendal present episode #137 of the In The Tank Podcast. This weekly podcast features (as always) interviews, debates, and roundtable discussions that explore the work of think tanks across the country. The show is available for download as part of the Heartland Daily Podcast every Friday. Today’s podcast features work from The Heartland Institute, the American Enterprise Institute, and more.

Policybot Featured Work of the Week

This week's Policybot featured work comes from The Heartland Institute. Heartland's Project Manager for the Center for Transforming Education, Lennie Jarrett, joins the podcast to talk about a newly released Policy Brief titled "Protecting Students with Child Safety Accounts." The new Policy Brief makes the case that School Choice is the answer to numerous problems that plague our students including violence, bullying, and more.

More Think Tank Works

Next, Donny and John talk about an article from the American Enterprise Institute titled "18 Spectacularly Wrong Predictions Made Around the Time of First Earth Day in 1970, Expect More This Year." Donny goes through much of the list and explains what implications these failed predictions have today.

Donny then updates the audience on several of the topics that have been covered in previous episodes. These updates include the state-level health insurance mandates, universal basic income, and PASPA.

In the last segment, John pitches his idea for an opt out for Social Security.
