Donny Kendal, joined by Executive Editor Justin Haskins and Managing Editor Sarah Lee, present episode #138 of the In The Tank Podcast. This weekly podcast features (as always) interviews, debates, and roundtable discussions that explore the work of think tanks across the country. The show is available for download as part of the Heartland Daily Podcast every Friday. Today’s podcast features work from The Heartland Institute, the Goldwater Institute, the Pacific Research Institute and the Pelican Institute.

Because of Justin and Sarah are well versed in the subject of health care, this episode was specific to the health care topic.

The first topic discussed by the trio is a potential revelation that could undermine the entirety of Obamacare. With the removal of the Obamacare mandate tax, the constitutional justification for the Affordable Care Act disappears. When you take this idea to the logical conclusion, it means the Trump administration can designate Obamacare unconstitutional and not enforce any aspect of the law. Theoretically, President Trump could do this with a Tweet.

Next, Donny asks Sarah about an article that appears in the new issue of Health Care News titled "Report: U.S. Health Care More Expensive Than Other Nations'." Sarah explains why this is the case and how is should highlight why the government should be less involved in our health care system.

They then talk about an article published by the Goldwater Institute titled "Alfie Evans' Lesson for the U.S." The article makes a connection between this tragic story and the issue of Right To Try.

The last health care item discussed was from the Pelican Institute. Their article, titled "Why Expanding Louisiana's Program to Able-Bodied Adults Hurts the Economy," debunks a Louisiana Department of Health report that claims Medicaid expansion helped the economy.

Supplemental article - Pacific Research Institute "States Can't Afford Medicaid Expansion - Neither Can Patients"

In the last segment, Donny, Sarah, and Justin talk about the Pope's tweet about banning all weapons.
