In The Tank (ep63) – How Will a Trump Presidency Affect Energy, Health Care, and Education Policy?

November 11, 2016

In episode #63 of the In The Tank Podcast, Donny and John are joined by Justin Haskins and Isaac Orr to talk about how the coming Trump presidency will affect health care, energy, education, and tax policy.

John and Donny are back in episode #63 of the In The Tank Podcast.  This weekly podcast features (as always) interviews, debates, and roundtable discussions that explore the work of think tanks across the country. The show is available for download as part of the Heartland Daily Podcast every Friday. Today’s podcast features work from the Cato Institute, The Heartland Institute, and the American Enterprise Institute.

John and Donny are joined by two experts to help shed light on how the coming Trump presidency will affect health care, energy and education policy. Justin Haskins, executive editor at Heartland, and Isaac Orr, the "fracking guy" and research fellow for energy policy, give us insight on what we can expect in the next 4 years.

For more reactions and opinions by Heartland policy experts, check out our post-election press release

In the days after the election, The American Enterprise Institute released an article titled "Big changes and big risks are ahead for health policy." This article explores the possibility of a full repeal of Obamacare and what that may mean for America.

Also following the election of Donald Trump, the Cato Institute released an article titled "Common Core: Election Bellwether, and What Trump May Do in Education." Like the AEI article, this piece focuses on the promises of the Trump presidency and what we can expect to happen in federal education policy.
