Internet Freedom Restored and Intellectual Property Protections (Guest: Tom Giovanetti)

Tom Giovanetti, president of the Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI), joins the podcast to talk about the one-year anniversary of the end of net neutrality and restoration of internet freedom, intellectual property, the rollout of 5G, and rural broadband.

Giovanetti represents IPI in many national and international organizations, including the World Intellectual Property Organization, where IPI is an accredited non-governmental organization. IPI was also accredited as an observer organization with the World Summit on the Information Society, where Giovanetti argued against UN involvement with Internet governance, and with the UN's Internet Governance Forum. Giovanetti also participated during meetings of the World Health Organization's Intergovernmental Working Group on Public Health, Innovation and Intellectual Property, and represents IPI as a stakeholder during trade agreement negotiations such as the current Trans-Pacific Partnership.
