Before his departure, Heartland Institute CEO Joe Bast discusses The Heartland Institute's history, it's accomplishments and what it hopes to achieve under new leadership.

Joseph Bast, CEO of The Heartland Institute, takes us through the founding and evolution of the Heartland Institute. Founded in 1984, Heartland is the foremost think tank for addressing a myriad of state policy issues and providing the bridge between state and federal issues.
 
In addition, Joe describes how and why The Heartland Institute took a leadership role in addressing climate science and discusses Tim Huelskamp, Ph.D. Heartland's new president, and what he thinks Heartland will be able to accomplish under Tim's leadership going forward.
