Plan Better and Do Not Build Houses Next to a Landfill (Guest: Mayor Chuck Brawner)

July 17, 2018

The city of Pearland Texas is suing a 30-year-old landfill after foolishly allowing a high-end housing development site to be built near the dump.

The city of Pearland Texas is suing to close a landfill that has been operating for nearly 30 years after it allowed a high-end housing development site to be built near the landfill. Now, residents are complaining of the smell. The Blue Ridge landfill complies with all state laws and serves three counties and dozens of communities, many of which will be harmed if the courts force the landfill to close. Mayor Chuck Brawner says Pearland should have planned better and worked with the landfill rather than try to bulldoze it.
