Karl Ziebarth, president of Ziebarth & Associates, an international transportation consultancy, and head of the Santa Fe Southern Railway, joins the podcast to talk about U.S. freight and passenger rail, high-speed rail networks in Europe and Asia, and private and public projects in the United States.

Ziebarth has consulted on railroads and public and private rail investments in a number of countries, from Saudi Arabia to Nigeria to Brazil to Sri Lanka, and advised government agencies, including the Federal Railroad Administration, the World Bank, and the UK Ministry of Transport.

Karl received a degree in economics from Yale University and did graduate work at New York University.
