March 26, 2019

Joseph Antos, a health care policy expert with the American Enterprise Institute, discusses association health plans and how Trump's health care regulatory changes are proving successful.

A recent report on association health plans (AHPs) from shows that the Trump administration's regulatory changes made it easier for small businesses to band together and offer AHPs. This has led to cost savings for consumers and has trended toward AHPs offering comprehensive benefits. Joseph Antos, a health care policy expert with Washington DC's AEI, has been observing these trends in the wake of the Trump administration's regulatory changes in the health care sector.

Antos joins the show to talk about what's working and how the market is positively responding to those changes, including AHPs and short-term plans. Antos also talks about what should happen in the marketplace going forward to ensure consumers aren't negatively affected as the country transitions away from Obamacare and fights off emerging single-payer legislation such as Medicare For All.
