David R. Legates, Ph.D., is professor of climatology in the Department of Geography and Spatial Sciences at the University of Delaware and an adjunct professor in the university’s Department of Applied Economics & Statistics. He also served in the Trump administration, and outlined at The Heartland Institute's 14th International Conference on Climate Change how his attempts to apply actual science and data to climate policy was thwarted at every turn. Climate realism was not tolerated by the career "Deep State" bureaucrats that run our government and set national policy. He notes, with a laugh, that it is more acceptable to publicly talk about belief in the "Ancient Aliens" theory than it is that humans are not causing a climate crisis. Before Dr. Legates takes the stage, Ken Haapala and Tom Sheahen of the Science and Environmental Policy Project (SEPP) give brief presentations. Sheahen explains why this award for named for the great Frederick Seitz: his dedication to the scientific method over the increasing politicization of science and the corruption of the peer-review system. Haapala talks about fossil fuels are not the bane of humanity and the planet, but have "delivered a miracle" by pulling billions of people out of extreme, live-threatening poverty. Recorded live on October 15, 2021 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Discussion moderated by James Taylor. Recorded on October 16, 2021 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas at The Heartland Institute's 14th International Conference on Climate Change.

William Happer, Ph.D., professor emeritus in the Department of Physics at Princeton University and the co-founder of the CO2 Coalition, delivers his keynote address at The Heartland Institute's 14th International Conference on Climate Change. Titled "Noble Lies," Dr. Happer 's address outlines how alarmists have convinced themselves that the "noble lie" of a climate emergency is justified because of the good that taking "climate action" would supposedly do for the planet and society. To the contrary, Dr. Happer explains, allowing "noble lies" has historically led to calamity, injustice, and even great evil.
