The Heartland Institute's Donald Kendal, Jim Lakely, and Nate Myers present episode 301 of the In The Tank Podcast. The ITT crew talks about Independence Day, beer taxes in your state, and the new COVID-19 Delta variant. Is this new strain of COVID more dangerous than the original? … probably not.
OPENING CHIT CHAT
Tax Foundation – How High are Beer Taxes in Your State?
https://taxfoundation.org/state-beer-taxes-2021/?utm_source=Tax+Foundation+Newsletters&utm_campaign=90518997f0-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_10_17_07_28_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8387957ec9-90518997f0-427651737&mc_cid=90518997f0&mc_eid=2a22e1c471
Maybe we can just write this off as a single data point that is not indicative of a larger trend, but I suspected we would see MUCH higher taxes on beer in Blue nanny states? I thought for sure Illinois, NY, and Cali would be dark red on this chart, not TN, KY, and SC.

The Media Research Center’s Brent Bozell, as well as Heartland Institute President James Taylor and Director of Government Relations Cameron Sholty, talk about how states fought Big Tech censorship this year, and what state legislatures can do to fight for free speech rights online moving forward.
Protecting online free speech MUST be a priority of state lawmakers. Big Tech is feeling the pressure, and we must keep applying that pressure.
