With hurricane Laura hitting Louisiana, and causing significant damage, there will be the predictable climate alarmist claims that this hurricane was somehow made worse by “climate change”. But, the data says otherwise. An analysis of historical hurricane data by climatologist Dr. Roy Spencer of the University of Alabama, Huntsville shows neither hurricane numbers nor intensities have increased in Louisiana.

The Heartland Institute hosted a webinar on Aug. 27, 2020 for state legislators to discuss how they can rein in governors, who wield seemingly unlimited powers in the wake of COVID-19. For many months, Americans have been abhorred by out-of-control governors who have imposed draconian lockdowns, which have decimated small businesses and people’s livelihoods. For instance, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has been roundly criticized for his heavy-handed and ineffectual response to the coronavirus outbreak in New York, which has drawn substantial blowback. Cuomo has also attempted to coverup his disastrous policy of forcing elderly patients with COVID-19 to return to nursing homes, where they spread the deadly diseases like wildfire among New York’s most vulnerable. As the days grow shorter and the temperatures dip lower, now is the time to begin exploring oversight over dictatorial governors, and restore power where it rightfully belongs: With we the people, not I the governor.

The hype from the Los Angeles Times was “…possibly the highest mercury reading on Earth since 1913“. https://www.yahoo.com/news/death-valley-hits-130-degrees-053931284.html But they didn’t tell you the full story. In fact, back in 1913, over 100 years of “global warming” ago, Death Valley’s official weather station at Greenland Ranch hit an all-time record of 134°F, which hasn’t been broken, and it was 130°F or higher three times that July. What global warming activists and the LA Times aren’t telling you is that this claimed “record” is simply “business as usual” for Death Valley and has happened before.
