Civil asset forfeiture is a tool allowing law enforcement to seize assets from people without charging them with a crime. It's meant for hindering the operations of criminal organizations nd drug pushers. Unfortunately, this tool also incentivizes law enforcement to seize as much as possible because they can keep and utilize the seized assets. This leads to innocent people losing their property.
