On Sept. 17, 2013, Dr. Craig Idso, Dr. S. Fred Singer, Dr. Willie Soon, and Heartland Institute President Joseph Bast announced the release of Climate Change Reconsidered II: Physical Science in Chicago. The report of peer-reviewed climate studies was produced by the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC).

Congressman Tom Price speaks at Heartland's 2013 Emerging Issues Forum at the Capital City Club in Atlanta, Georgia. During his speech he talked about the problems with Obamacare, opening up federal lands, federalism, and the debt ceiling. Congressman Price serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. In the 113th Congress, Price was named vice chairman of the House Committee on the Budget. In previous Congresses, he has served as chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee and chairman of the Republican Study Committee.

Education in the U.S. has been underperforming and over-spending for decades. American students perform poorly compared to their counterparts in other countries, despite the fact that per-pupil spending in the U.S. is far higher. Each year more and more states are expanding school choice through increased access to charter schools, vouchers, education savings accounts, parent triggers, and tax credits. The Heartland Institute's First International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC-1) took place in March 2008 in New York City. One hundred speakers and panelists came from 26 countries to prove that leading scientists and economists from around the world dispute the claim that global warming is a crisis. More than 500 people attended the conference, which generated global press attention.
