On Thursday, October 19, Bruno Behrend, senior fellow, spoke to the Suburban Republican Women's Club Milwaukee in Milwaukee, WI to 50 attendees. Bruno opened with a quip, “Common Core is bad. Government regulations on education are bad. Get your children out of public schools.” Behrend went on to explain how government regulation creates bad ideas like Common Core and how this will continue until government gets out of the way of actual education. Behrend posited a solution is to have a low cost education outlet on every corner. This could be done by hiring or empowering teachers to start their own one room school.
