PRESS RELEASE: Heartland Institute Invites Jay Inslee to Debate a Climate Scientist in DC on July 25

June 27, 2019

In Democratic Debate Wednesday Night, Climate Champion Jay Inslee Said Man-Caused Global Catastrophe Is a 'Moral Certainty' - Scientists at July 25 Climate Conference Ready to Challenge Inslee's Assertion with Latest Climate Data

The Heartland Institute, globally considered the leading think tank promoting skepticism of the theory that humans are causing a global climate crisis, is hosting its 13th International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC-13) on July 25, 2019, in Washington, DC.

The Heartland Institute has pledged to hold a speaking slot at the conference for Jay Inslee – or any Democratic candidate for president – to make the case that it is a “moral certainty” humans are the main driver of global warming on Earth.

“The climate scientists on our program are more than happy to have the debate Jay Inslee says needs to happen about the causes and consequences of climate change,” said Heartland Institute Interim President Jim Lakely.

“The floor is open,” Lakely said. “Make the case. If future climate catastrophe at our hand is a ‘moral certainty,’ then it must be scientifically certain, as well. So let’s get that question settled in a public debate – a debate voters must see now so it can rightly consent to the remedies put forth by Jay Inslee and others who are also morally certain about the causes and consequences of climate change.”

The public can obtain tickets at the REGISTER link at the conference website.

Media can apply for credentials here or email jlakely@heartland.org.

The Heartland Institute’s 13th International Conference on Climate Change features scientists whose work has established that the human impact on climate is likely very small and beneficial – as well as the courageous policy experts who spoke the truth about climate change during the height of the global warming scare. Now, many of them are advising the new administration or joining it in senior positions. (Some of them are among the more than 200 speakers at Heartland’s previous 12 conferences.)

The speakers at ICCC-13 will summarize the best available climate science and recommend which policy changes are needed for America to lead a post-alarmist world in climate realism. The conference will also feature timely, in-depth, expert discussions about the “Green New Deal” and the benefits of ending the Democrats’ war on fossil fuels.

Confirmed speakers:

Dominik Kolorz, chairman of the board of the Śląsko-Dąbrowski Region of Polish Solidarity;

Myron Ebell, head of the Cooler Heads Coalition and Trump’s EPA transition team;

David Legates, Ph.D., climatologist at the University of Delaware;

Roy Spencer, Ph.D., of the University of Alabama at Huntsville;

Patrick Michaels, Ph.D.,  past president of the American Association of State Climatologists;

Nir Shaviv, Ph.D., Racah Institute of Physics in the Hebrew University;
