ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL (January 21, 2020) – A new poll by Cygnal for Ready Colorado of 636 likely 2020 election voters conducted in mid-December shows widening support for Child Safety Accounts (CSA), which were first promoted by The Heartland Institute. The poll finds 54 percent of likely voters favor CSAs and 32 percent are opposed. Among income brackets, 65 percent of families making less than $50,000 favor CSAs. Meanwhile, 59 percent of Hispanic and black voters also support CSAs.

The full poll results can be found here.

“Parents expect their children to be safe at school. Students cannot learn if they do not feel safe. Child Safety Accounts are one of the best solutions to student safety concerns and need to be implemented throughout America, not just in Colorado.”

“Considering about one in five students in Colorado were subject to bullying in 2017, their parents are right to seek an option that can get their children into a school where they can continue their education safely and peacefully. Child Safety Accounts can help them do that. It is no wonder that this program is so popular throughout the Centennial State. Every Colorado family should have the opportunity to remove their child from an unsafe school environment. With CSAs, this would become reality.”

“Ensuring student safety is a top concern for parents and citizens. Virtually any way you slice it, overwhelming majorities of Colorado voters support Child Safety Accounts, regardless of race, political affiliation, education level, or age group. When a public policy garners such strong, cross-cutting support, elected officials should heed their constituents, and enact a CSA program to help parents keep their children safe at school.”
