State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz says she is concerned that the state is nearing a “tipping point, where we’re starting actually to make decisions about people’s lives” (“Keeping tax pledge doesn’t look promising,” News, May 9).
Excuse me?
We have long since passed that tipping point.
Tax increases, borrowing, underfunding pensions — these are all “decisions about people’s lives.”
Gov. Pat Quinn and the Illinois Legislature have done a remarkable job making people’s lives miserable.
They need to be held accountable for their promises to cut spending and roll back tax increases.
