Elusive Particles of Truth: EPA’s Proposed PM 2.5 Regulations
Simmons argues that air quality is improving. What's more is that pollution is declining despite economic growth and increases in energy consumption. GDP is increasing and vehicle miles driven continue to increase, while air quality improves. Despite all these improvements, the EPA continues to make more stringent requirements on the business and consumers. The problem with the EPA's requirements is that the rules proscribed are increasingly repressive economically, and come from dubious social science methods.
