Particulate Air Pollution: Weighing The Risks

Schwarz argues that air quality has vastly improved.  This has occurred despite the increase in population, automobile travel, and energy consumption.  Nevertheless, the Bush administration and congressional Democrats seek to increase regulation of power plant emissions because of the health hazard of particulate matter.

This study looks at the regulation of air quality and challenges the assumption that particulate matter is a significant cause of mortality.
