By Sam Batkins

Since President Obama took office in 2009, the federal government has issued 600 major regulations totaling $743 billion, or about 1 major rule every four or five days.

In more than six years in office, President Obama had imposed more regulations than President Bush did in eight years. The administration has issued a record-breaking figure 600 major regulations in roughly 7.5 years, 20 percent more than the previous president did in eight years, for a combined economic burden on the economy of at least $743 billion, larger than the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Norway and Israel combined, amounting to $2,294 regulatory costs on every person in the United States.
