CARES Act – Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (H.R.748)

March 27, 2020

Text of the CARES Act passed by the House (after Senate passage) and signed into law by President Trump.

The 883 page CARES Act  is a comprehensive aid package that includes direct payments to individuals, an expansion of unemployment insurance, and billions in aid to large and small businesses, with a price tag exceeding $2,000,000,000,000.00.

"This isn't even a stimulus package," said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. "It is emergency relief. Emergency relief. That's what this is."
