Although there is little doubt human activities affect the environment, the extent to which we are contributing to current climate change is an open one.

The question of whether humans are causing global warming is a scientific one and thus not a matter of belief or non-belief. Although there is no question human activities affect the environment or that the earth has warmed over the past 150 years or so, the extent to which human fossil fuel use of contributing to the warming is an open question. Climate is complex with myriad factors contributing to it. Internal dynamics of the earths climate system, solar and cosmic activity, and human activities all play some role in the present state of climate and the extent and pace of change.
