HSLDA Letter Regarding Colorado Immunization Exemption Form
HSLDA sent a letter in August to the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment saying a new immunization exemption form violates the First Amendment because it contains compelled speech.
The Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) has gathered nearly 15,000 signatures from citizens who object to language in a new form Colorado parents must complete to obtain immunization exemptions for their children.
The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) created in June a new form for those seeking a non-medical immunization exemption. The form requires parents to sign a statement acknowledging, “Failure to follow the advice of a physician, registered nurse, or physician’s assistant, or public health official who has recommended vaccines may endanger my child’s, my health, or life and others who come into contact with my child/me.”
