The United States is working with Saudi Arabia to help it develop a nuclear energy program while preventing nuclear weapon proliferation.

Saudi Arabia is seeking to build its first two nuclear power reactors, and for U.S. companies to compete to build the reactors the U.S. must develop a 123 Agreement that secures valuable, long-term nonproliferation commitments from Saudi Arabia while encouraging Saudi Arabia’s efforts to modernize its economy and society.
