Ohio House Bill 52 with Price Transparency Amendment

June 30, 2015
By Ohio General Assembly

Section 51620.80 requires medical providers to provide patients written estimates showing insurance discounts.

Health Care News reported in September 2016:

The estimates must disclose the amount the provider will charge the patient or patient’s insurer, the amount the insurer will pay, and the difference payable by the patient, the law states. To help providers comply, commercial insurers and the state Medicaid director will be required to give pricing information to providers upon request.
