November 14, 2018
By Austin Burt, et al.

Governments should not unnecessarily restrict the efforts of researchers to genetically modify disease carrying mosquito species in ways that lead to their destruction.

Genetic modification techniques hold out the promise of eradicating malaria by altering the genes of the malaria bearing mosquito species in way that makes them unable to reproduce. With millions of lives at stake, government's should not unnecessarily restrict such research.
