President Obama's progressive view on energy policy on display in his budget blueprint, would tax and regulate out of-favor sources of energy and use taxpayer dollars to support in-favor energy sources. The result of these policies, if enacted, would be the federal government keeping affordable, dependable energy in the ground while trying to force uncompetitive technologies onto the market. This will not produce more abundant, more reliable energy supplies, but it will increase energy prices, waste taxpayer funds, and hurt the nation's competitiveness internationally.
