Earlier this year Ray Bacon, executive director of the Nevada Manufacturers Association, expressed concern over the future of Nevada’s right-to-work law. At a luncheon held by the Northeast Nevada Development Authority, Bacon, referring to the considerable political muscle flexed by unions in the 1996 election, told the business group, “It’s not too soon to be thinking about 1998.” He warned of a serious challenge to Nevada’s right-to-work law in the 1999 legislative session. “I’m not sure we’ll have the votes to keep it,” he told the gathering.
