The Leaflet: AFEC 2018 Is Almost Here!

Published August 2, 2018

The wait is over! The Heartland Institute’s America First Energy Conference (#AFEC2018) is almost here. Our second AFEC event will explore the Trump administration’s America First Energy Plan in the hub of the nation’s energy and refinery industry: New Orleans.

At this exciting conference, leading energy and environment experts from across the United States will discuss whether the scientific and economic evidence reveals America is on the path toward energy dominance. AFEC will feature five VIP keynote addresses and 10 panels featuring more than 30 high-profile speakers from government, industry, academia, and other think tanks.

Last week, we announced our latest addition to our conference speaker lineup: Alex Epstein, founder and president of the Center for Industrial Progress and author of The New York Times bestseller The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels. Epstein will join other prominent speakers, such as Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and Assistant Secretary of the Interior Joe Balash, in discussing recent environment and energy improvements ushered in by the Trump administration’s pro-jobs agenda.

Nearly 300 people are expected to attend, including state legislators, congressional staff, state think tank leaders, private-sector government relations professionals, and policy analysts from every corner of the United States. We encourage those legislators attending the ALEC Annual Meeting to drop by Heartland’s America First Energy Conference. Both are being held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. And make sure you take a few minutes to chat with Heartland staff at our ALEC booth!

Can’t attend AFEC? All panels and keynotes will be livestreamed and archived on americafirstenergy.org. The event schedule and more details can be found there, too.

If you have any questions or concerns about the conference, please email me, Arianna Wilkerson, at [email protected].
